“Roots” is a support group for expectant mothers, focusing on:  

  • Understanding how to identify signs of depression and anxiety 
  • Increasing fetal and baby bonding  
  • Enhancing the well-being of mothers 
  • Promoting support and confidence 
  • Preparing for the birthing, perinatal, and postpartum phases of life 

The program facilitator, Elizabeth J. James, DMFT, MA, LMFT, LPCC, fosters a welcoming environment. Expectant mothers can discuss their thoughts, feelings, and concerns about pregnancy, body image, role transitions, relationship changes, and more. As a group member, you gain a sense of empowerment by utilizing learned tools and techniques to make positive changes in your life.

How to Register

  1. Register for your class here.
  2. Enter Birth and Beyond into the keyword search to register for the class you want to attend.
  3. Select the class or classes you would like to join.
  4. Click Add To Cart to register
  5. When you are done selecting your classes, continue to your Shopping Cart at the top of the page, and follow the prompts for payment, if applicable.
  6. Once registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email; please bring it with you to class.

  • If your class is cancelled due to low enrollment, we will notify you.
  • There are no classes on holidays.

Cancellation/Refund/No-Show Policy

If a participant cancels their registration less than 5 days before the course start date, no refunds will be given. If the participant does not show up for the course, no refund will be given, and full payment will be charged to the participant. In the event the course is canceled, registration fees will be refunded to the participant.
