Coming Soon: New Building for Children's Specialty Care
Our new Children's Health Specialty Clinics building will bring 30 pediatric specialties together under one roof, making it easier for families to get expert care.
Our Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides services to children with kidney diseases, hypertension and bone disorders from newborns to 21 years of age. We are the designated Pediatric kidney disease center for the inland empire and service the counties of San Bernardino, Riverside and other adjacent counties.
We provide medical management of children with hypertension, kidney and bladder diseases, fluid and electrolytes disorders, acute and chronic kidney disease, kidney failure, dialysis and kidney transplant. All modalities of dialysis are provided; this includes continuous renal replacement therapy, peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis. Pediatric kidney biopsies are routinely performed at our center.
We are a California Children's Services (CCS) certified Specialty Renal Team center. The renal team center has a renal dietician, renal social worker, renal nurse practitioner and a nephrology nurse specialist to provide comprehensive care to all pediatric patients with chronic kidney disease and kidney transplants. At age 21, we are able to provide a smooth transition to our Adult Nephrology team in the LLUH System. Our goal is to provide state of the art care to children with renal diseases in the Inland Empire.
Children with chronic kidney and urologic diseases, dialysis and renal transplant are followed in pediatric renal clinics. Our outpatient services include general nephrology consultation at the outpatient Loma Linda pediatric clinics, Loma Linda University Hospital based team clinics, Riverside University Health System (RUHS) and SACHS clinics.
We also work in collaboration with our Pediatric Urology specialists in providing coordinated care for children with urologic diseases. Patients with autoimmune diseases are taken care of jointly in our clinic and our Pediatric Rheumatology colleagues. Finally, we provide evaluation for children with hypertension and have an ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) service.
