General Children’s Hospital Visitation Guidelines

Important Update

New flu season visitor guidelines: Under current flu season visitation guidelines, visitors under the age of 14 are not permitted at the Children’s Hospital. This measure is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of our young patients, especially during the flu season when the risk of infection is heightened. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

  • Parents/guardians or a designee and grandparents may visit at any time.
  • All other visitors may visit a patient during the hours of 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. All visitors should check in at the Grand Hallway.
  • LLUCH may limit visitation to those who are 18 years and older based upon immediate public health and security need. Please verify with the department before visiting.
  • Each time you come to the unit, you will need to check with the unit secretary.
  • You will be asked to wash your hands before each visit and entry in and out of the room.
  • Anyone with symptoms of a cold, flu, or open sores should not visit on the unit.
  • Visitors may be asked to leave during procedures in the room and will be allowed to return to once the patient is stable enough for visitation.
  • No soliciting allowed.
  • Donation of gifts and toys may only be done with clearance from Child Life Services.

All visitation will be at the discretion of clinical staff and may be modified depending on the status of the individual patient and the patients nearby. There will be an escalation when visitors pose a threat to patient or staff safety.
